The Department of Information Technology & Communication (DITC), Government of Nagaland is committed to making the Common Scholarship Portal usable by the widest possible range of visitors, including people using assistive technology, and to meeting the Guidelines for Indian Government Websites (GIGW) 3.0 and WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
1. What we've built in
- A "skip to main content" link at the top of every page for keyboard users.
- On-page text-resize controls and a high-contrast mode, available from the top bar.
- Keyboard-operable navigation, search, and interactive components.
- Descriptive page titles, labelled form fields, and text alternatives for meaningful images.
2. Known limitations
We are aware of areas that still need work, including full bilingual (Hindi/English) support and a small number of interactive components that are not yet fully optimised for screen readers. These are being addressed as part of ongoing improvements to the Portal.
3. Compatibility
The Portal is built to work with current versions of major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari) and with common screen readers such as NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver. Where possible, pages are designed to reflow and remain usable when browser zoom or the Portal's own text-resize control is used.
