This Privacy Policy explains how the Common Scholarship Portal, operated by the Department of Information Technology & Communication (DITC), Government of Nagaland, collects, uses, and protects the personal information of applicants and other users.
1. Information we collect
To process a scholarship application we collect information you provide directly, including your name, date of birth, gender, contact details, address, category, academic and institutional details, bank account details for disbursement, and supporting documents such as marksheets, income certificates, and identity proof. Where you choose to verify your identity through DigiLocker, we receive your verified name and date of birth from that service for the sole purpose of matching them against your profile.
2. How we use your information
Your information is used only to process, verify, and administer your scholarship application — including eligibility checks, review by nodal and departmental officers, disbursement of approved scholarships, and responding to support requests. It is not used for any unrelated commercial purpose.
3. Who can access your information
Access is limited to authorised nodal officers, department administrators, and helpdesk staff involved in processing your application, on a need-to-know basis. Your information is not sold or shared with third parties, except where required by law or by a competent government authority.
4. Data storage and security
Application data and uploaded documents are stored on secured government-managed infrastructure, with access restricted by role-based permissions. Passwords are stored in encrypted (hashed) form and are never visible to Portal staff.
5. Cookies
The Portal uses only the minimum session and security cookies necessary for you to stay signed in and to protect forms from cross-site request forgery. These cookies do not track you across other websites.
6. Your rights
You may review and update your profile information at any time before final submission through your dashboard. To request correction or removal of information after submission, or to raise any other privacy concern, contact the helpdesk using the details below.
7. Retention
Application records are retained for as long as required for scheme administration, audit, and grievance-redressal purposes, in line with applicable government record-retention rules.
